PACE Supply is hiring an Operations Assistant for our Distribution Center in Stockton, CA. This role supports the DC by managing and coordinating projects from start to finish, ranging from customer-specific requests to larger branch-wide initiatives. The Operations Assistant works closely with all departments to ensure smooth HVAC operations, accurate and damage-free deliveries, and a high level of customer service. This position also plays a key role in promoting workplace safety, including becoming a certified Master Forklift Trainer to help improve forklift safety within the DC and at other branches as needed.

Monday–Friday, starting at 8:00 AM
Daily overtime available

Project Management

• Develop and execute projects assigned by the DC Leadership Team, managing all phases from planning through tracking and measuring results.

• Partner with departments and branch locations outside of the Distribution Center as needed to successfully complete projects.

Distribution Center Operational Support

• Provide hands-on support to DC departments to ensure a high level of customer service.

• Perform advanced departmental functions to maintain operational efficiency, even in the absence of key personnel.

• Maintain working knowledge and proficiency across all DC departments, including Inventory Control, Pipe, Shipping, Receiving, and others.

HVAC Operations

• Oversee the processing of all HVAC equipment, including receiving, repairs, picking, and loading.

• Manage all HVAC OBS orders, including will-call and customer and branch deliveries using HVAC loop trucks.

• Manage the Will Call counter to ensure prompt, accurate service and a high level of customer satisfaction.

Safety Focused

• Partner with DC Management to coordinate and support forklift training.

• Actively promote and maintain a safe work environment for all employees and visitors.

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent education.

• Minimum Two years of experience in a logistics or warehouse environment.

• Project management experience preferred.

• Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Five or more years of experience in a logistics or warehouse environment, including leadership experience
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal, written, and reading communication skills.
• Proficient in time management, consistently meeting responsibilities within designated time-frames.
• Collaborative mindset, fostering positive relationships with internal stakeholders and external interactions with customers and manufacturers.
• Basic math skills, including counting and performing computations up to four digits.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills, including keyboarding.
• Proficient in English, including reading, writing, and oral communication.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, considering all factors and recommending appropriate solutions.
• Adherence to workplace rules, methods, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to be trained and certified on various equipment (stand up, reach lift, order picker and more.)

Work Environment

Physical Requirements:

• The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
• Ability to lift items that weigh up to 50 lbs. regularly. This includes carrying, dragging, and walking with materials, as well as using a hand-truck.
• Prolonged periods of standing or sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Environmental Conditions:

• The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
• Occasionally, the employee may be exposed to high, precarious places and vibration.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
