• Provide prompt, courteous, and professional service to customers at the counter, assisting with plumbing product needs

• Use plumbing product knowledge to recommend appropriate materials and help customers make informed purchasing decisions

• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through reliable service and effective follow-through

• Accurately enter and process customer orders, quotes, returns, and branch transfers

• Provide pricing, availability, and job quotes for plumbing materials as needed

• Receive, inspect, stock, and organize plumbing inventory to ensure accuracy and accessibility

• Safely load and unload plumbing materials for customer pickup and deliveries

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe counter area and warehouse environment

• Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory control and accuracy

• Promptly report back orders, damaged materials, or inventory discrepancies to management

• Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe or hazardous conditions

• Participate in ongoing plumbing product training to expand knowledge and improve customer support

• Assist with year-end physical inventory and general branch upkeep as needed

Skills

• Ability to work effectively under supervision in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail

• Basic forklift operation skills preferred (training available if needed) and the physical ability to lift and move inventory safely

• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with customers and team members

• Willingness to learn and grow within a plumbing-focused warehouse and counter sales role

Work Environment

Physical Requirements:

• The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
• Ability to lift items that weigh up to 50 lbs. regularly. This includes carrying, dragging, and walking with materials, as well as using a hand-truck.
• Prolonged periods of standing or sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Environmental Conditions:

• The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
• Occasionally, the employee may be exposed to high, precarious places and vibration.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
